Area Profile

The area served by Sean Heaney Estate Agents- Barnet, Hadley, Arkley , Cockfosters and the surround
is on the edge of North London and South Hertfordshire (approx. 10 miles from the West End) and has the unique blend of being classified within the metropolis zones with excellent links for commuting yet having a semi -rural feel given that it sits on the fringe of open greenbelt countryside providing walks of natural beauty as well as quaint, picturesque buildings in the conservation areas . It also overflows with a sense of history and charm where much of the landscape has retained its character but at the same time offers fantastic amenities for commuters with both the Northern Line (High Barnet) and Piccadilly Line (Cockfosters) as well as the Mainline stations into Moorgate, Finsbury Park and Kings Cross (Hadley Wood, New Barnet and Oakleigh Park). Easy access is also provided to the motorways including the M25 and A1M.

The market town of Chipping Barnet has an array of shops , cafes and restaurants which are set in and around ‘The Spires’ shopping centre while Cockfosters offers some excellent small boutiques as well as convenient supermarkets and eateries.

Another of the attractions of living in this area is the quality of schools whether it be primary or secondary and there are a number of well know private schools which are within easy access of the Barnet vicinity.

There are also an abundance of leisure pursuits including Trent Park and Barnet recreational ground, horse riding, rugby and football facilities not to mention some fantastic golf courses namely ‘The Shires’ (the only designed by Seve Ballesteros in England), Old Fold Manor (open championship regional qualifying course), Hadley Wood, Dyrham Park (Arkley) and South Herts in Totteridge, N20.
